Our Statement of Faith
We
believe that God's original purpose was to create and maintain a universal
community in which there would be creativity and productivity in an
environment of health, peace, and harmony. We
believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God the Father.
We believe that Jesus was conceived of the Holy Ghost, born of the
virgin Mary, died for the forgiveness of our sins, shedding His precious
blood, was buried and rose again on the third day.
After His resurrection He preached the gospel of the Kingdom for
forty days and then ascended into Heaven, where He now sits at the right
hand of God, the Father, interceding for the Church, His Bride. We
believe in the Holy Spirit, in His work on earth as Teacher, Comforter, and
Guide. We believe in divine
healing provided through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ.
We believe in the Word of God and in the Living Word, Jesus Christ,
Incarnate. We
believe that the Kingdom of God is built in trust and that the strategy of
the Kingdom is love. We believe
that God will destroy the destroyer of the earth.
We believe in the holy universal Church built upon Jesus Christ, the
Chief Cornerstone, the foundation being the Apostles and the Prophets. We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ which will occur when the gospel of the Kingdom has been preached to all the earth as a witness. We believe that when Christ returns He will judge the quick and the dead and He will establish God's Kingdom of which there will be no end. And He shall reign forever and ever. Amen. Our
Bishop
Bishop David
Huskins is a man who has been called a dreamer, and he is a true
apostle who carries a prophetic mantle. Bishop Huskins has
experienced the miraculous power of God personally. Bishop and
his wife Michelle have four sons: Aaron, Zachary, Isaac, and
Michael. Our Belief Cedar Lake Christian Center is “Orthodox” in our theology, drawing from the foundations of early Apostolic and church Fathers. We embrace without reservation the great creeds of the historic Christian Church including the Apostles Creed of 390 AD, the Nicene Creed of 325 AD, and others. CLCC is “Reformed” in our doctrine accepting the reforms of the 16th and 17th century through Luther, Calvin, Zwigli, and the Puritan writers. CLCC is “Catholic – wherever Jesus is present” in our conviction that the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is one Holy and Apostolic Church. CLCC is “Evangelical” in our adherence to the authority of Scripture, the deity of Christ, and Salvation through faith in the atoning work of Christ. CLCC is “Charismatic” in our worship and ministry, partaking of the power of the Holy Spirit and exercising the biblical gifts of the Holy Spirit. CLCC is “Christological” in our belief that the Lord Jesus Christ is central in our worship and Christian practices. He is Lord of our lives, Head of His church, and King of His Kingdom. CLCC is “Incarnational” in our theology, not that we are Christ, but that Christ is in us, and we are in the world, continuing His work and demonstrating His Kingdom on earth. CLCC is “Covenantal”, believing that accomplishing God’s purposes on earth is possible only through our response to His covenant. His covenant was dramatized in the Old Testament through human experience with his people and is fully ratified in the New Testament through the atoning work of Christ. CLCC is “Restorational” in our practical theology knowing that the central work of God is restoring man, the earth, and the universe back to God’s original plan and purpose. CLCC is “Kingdom” in our theology, believing that the central issue and concern of God in scripture is His righteous rule in Heaven and earth. Since the Kingdom of God was the major subject preached and taught by Christ during His earthly ministry and after His resurrection, the church therefore, is the embassy of the Kingdom of God and must proclaim Christ as both Savior and Lord of all.
